Samaj Kalyan O Unnayan Shangstha (SKUS) is implementing the project โ€œEnhancing Community Protection, Prevention and Response Mechanism in Coxโ€™s Bazar,โ€ supported by Child Fund New Zealand and technically assisted by Educo Bangladesh. On 25 and 26 November 2025, delegates from Child Fund New Zealand, Mr. Matt Fowler and Ms. Rabia Khan, visited field-level activities under theย  CPRM project at Jaliapalong Union, Ukhiya, Camp-17 and Camp-18, Coxโ€™s Bazar. At the same time, they visited the activities of the Multi-Purpose Center (MPC) operated by the SKUS.
They observed Community-Based Child Protection Committee (CBCPC), Women Support Group (WSG), Youth and Adolescent club (A&Y) meetings, and Life Skills Session under MPC. Where adolescent girls welcomed them with handmade flowers. The delegates spoke to the members of CBCPCs, WSGs, A&Y clubs, and participants of MPCs shared how they are learning about child rights, protection, GBV, SRH, health-hygiene, early marriage prevention, and disaster preparedness, as well as how they pass on their knowledge to their family, friends, and community people. Members of CBCPCs, WSGs, and A&Y Clubs recommended skills training, dignity kits, and emergency support during disasters.
The delegates then visited home gardening activities under climate resilience initiatives in East Sonarpara, Jaliapalong Union, and Camp-17. Where the project participants described the training and inputs they received from SKUS, including seeds, compost, organic pesticides, and technical support, and explained how their gardens support household nutrition and small income generation. Beneficiaries requested more seeds, organic inputs, and expanded coverage.
The team also visited community-led road and culvert repair work in Roppati, Jaliapalong union, repaired the pathway in camp-17, and repaired the bamboo bridge in camp-18 under the RRAP component, where community members and school children expressed that the improved infrastructure will ensure safer movement during rainy seasons.

A coordination meeting was held with SKUS and Educo teams, attended by Ms. Jesmin Prema, Chairperson of SKUS, and Ms. Sumi Akter Shewly, Head of Humanitarian Response, Educo Coxโ€™s Bazar, during which the visitors praised the projectโ€™s performance and the dedication of field teams.
