SKUS is a non-profit, non-government and non-political voluntary women-headed development organization duly registered with NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh (Registration no-2061). SKUS has been working since 1995 to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor, marginalized and unprivileged people, and to remove discrimination and all kinds of exploitations. Jesmin Prema is a successful entrepreneur and founder chairman of Samaj Kalyan O Unnayan Shangstha (SKUS) a non-profit, non-government, and non-political voluntary women-headed development organization. She has been leading her role with SKUS since 1996.

She was born in 1972 in Dhaka. She completed her MA from Dhaka University. She was involved in various social and cultural organizations as a young person. While studying at the university, she was regularly involved in various developmental works besides writing in newspapers. She had a strong desire to work for social change from childhood and worked accordingly to achieve her goal.
