SKUS Working Experiences are as follows:
Education: Since 1996 SKUS has been implementing non-formal education intervention and projects with financial support from BNFE, Ministry of Primary & Mass Education, UNICEF, USC Canada, Bangladesh with Adult male and female, adolescents, urban working children, in different parts of Bangladesh.
Life Skills Education: SKUS have working experiences in the implementation of Life skill & Education for adolescent and young people. SKUS with the financial support from USC-Canada, YPSA and BNFE implement activities in different areas of Bangladesh.
HIV/AIDS Prevention: SKUS has been working since 2005 in HIV and AIDS prevention field with a marginalized population including Transport workers, male and female ethnic workers, young people, Garments workers, hotel sex workers, Injecting Drug users in Chittagong City areas. SKUS got financial support from UNICEF, ZIKSY Foundation, HASAB-YPSA Consortium, Save the Children, (Global Fund) and its own resources.
HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention is one of the important and prominent activities of SKUS. The main objective of the HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention is to reduce risk of HIV/AIDS among the people at risk. With the aim to that end SKUS has been implementing different types of projects on HIV/AIDS since its inception. Here are snapshots of some HIV/AIDS programs implemented by SKUS so far are:

Protection (Child Protection and GBV): SKUS has been implementing child protection and GVB project since 2007. The main activities under these project are life skills session, PSS, Mental Health, Case management (Referral) advocacy, social mobilization, community-based services. Some of the project lists are given below;
Life-skill education and adolescent development (LEAD ) project at slum areas in Dhaka City Corporation from June 2005 to December 2006.

Child protection project at Rohingya Camp in Cox’s Bazar with the support of KNH from January 2018 to July 2019
Women empowerment project at Rohingya Camp in Cox’s Bazar with the support of Helping Hand from March 2019 to November 2019

Malaria Control: SKUS has been working in malaria porn areas since 2006. From 2007 SKUS has been implementing Malaria Control program with the financial support from Global Fund under BRAC Consortium. Malaria Awareness & Prevention Program.
Safe Water and Sanitation: SKUS has a handful amount of experiences in the water and sanitation sector Program. It has been working in collaboration NGO Forum for Drinking Water, Department of public engineering for safe water and Water supply through the pipeline in Villages and Growth Centers.
Health Nutrition and Family Planning: Since 1999 SKUS has been working the sector to ensure poor and vulnerable people’s Health, Nutrition and Family Planning issues with financial support from Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Action Aid Bangladesh.
Women Development and Empowerment Program: One of the major components of SKUS development strategy is to work for women development and empower. SKUS has been working since 1996 in this sector. SKUS provides training, education and skill education in this regards. It has organized the destitute women groups from both urban and rural areas and empowering them as well. SKUS gets financial support from Action Aid Bangladesh, Ministry of women and Child Affairs, Social welfare department, executive committee and it well-wishers.
Food Security and Livelihood Development: Access to and control over public resources, Agriculture, Livestock, Fish culture/aquaculture, Poultry, Trade/business, Handicrafts and Cash for work program and
Natural Resources Management (NRM) and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation: Environmental conservation and restoration, sustainable natural resource management and climate change adaptation and mitigation;
Livelihood Early Recovery Support for flood and land slide and tornado affected communities : SKUS implemented several project with the financial support of UNDP Bangladesh. Some of the project mentioned below;

Livelihood Early Recovery Support for Tornado affected community in B. Baria from September 2013 to November 2013
Emergency shelter assistance for the most vulnerable households affected by cyclone Roanu in Bangladesh for Kutubdia Upazilla under Cox’s Bazar August 2016 to January 2017
Livelihood Skill Training to selected urban working children of BEHTRUWC project: SKUS implemented Livelihood Skills Training among 955 Livelihood Skills Training on i) Block, Batik and Screenprint, ii) Jori, Chumki and Embroidery, iii) Industrial Sewing, iv) Handicraft for Urban Working Children in Chittagong City Corporation areas with aims at to create opportunities either to enhance their family livelihood skills or to expand their traditional family business for sustainable income and livelihood. Out of the total 955 project beneficiaries SKUS helped in providing full time/part-time job to 338 learners in different outlets like butik shop, screenprint factories, embroidery house, tailoring shop and to small entrepreneurs.
Vocational Training on SKUS technical training centre: In 2013 SKUS has established a Technical training centre named SKUS Technical Training Center (STTC) for short course training operation with the approval from Bangladesh Technical Board. SKUS have been providing training on various trade i) Block Batik and printing, ii) Refrigerator and Air-conditioning iii) industrial Sewing machine operation and Maintenance iv) Dress making and Tailoring, v) computer Office Application vi) Mobile phone servicing vii) Jori, Chumki and Embroidery, viii) Beautification / Parlar and ix) Handicraft.
Mother and Child heath care: SKUS has working experiences in providing mother and child health care services. It has been implementing projects with financial support from ministry of women and child affair for providing Maternity Allowance, EPI and Primary Health Care Service Project with support of Chittagong City Corporation, NGO foundation and through its own contribution.
Childless Women Safeguarding: One of the new areas where SKUS has been working to create enabling environment and supporting those who are facing problem due to their infertility and childlessness. This is very painful and those who have this problem are in critical condition due to stigma and discrimination. SKUS has been working since 2010 for ensure their mental supports, stopping family breakdown, divorces, land right and legal adoption issues.
Low cost Housing: With the financial support from National Housing Fund. GOB/ Bangladesh Bank SKUS help Ultra Poor People to build low cost house since July 2006.
Disabled rehabilitation: SKUS worked for disable people to develop their skills as well as rehabilitate them in the society with financial supports. It helps from executive committee, disable foundation as well as social welfare department. The main intervention of the project social awareness, rehabilitation of disadvantage people, capacity development etc.
Social Forestry & Environment Conservation: SKUS work on social forestry and environmental conservation through community participation in its project areas.
Disaster Risk management and Emergency relief & Rehabilitation Program: SKUS has been working in Disaster risk management and emergency relief and rehabilitation effort for the flood, cyclone and other disaster victims by the financial support from Action Aid Bangladesh, Ministry of Food and Disaster Management.
Awareness-raising: SKUS has been working on different social issues to caret awareness on the issues like child right, girls power, eve-teasing, violence against women, voter right and health and hygiene issues since its inception.
Advocacy: SKUS organizeadvocacy & social mobilization in social issues like dowry, women rights, election & voter registration awareness campaign, Eve teasing, Acid throwing etc
Beggar survey and Rehabilitation Program : SKUS implemented this project from September 2011 to July 2012 with the financial support of Directorate of Social service titled on Rehabilitation & Alternative Employment program for the People Engaged in Begging. Under the project SKUS conduct a survey in Dhaka City Corporation and prepared a database on 1000 beggar and recommend to Department of Social service for rehabilitation.
