World Literacy Day 2024 was celebrated at the SKUS learning center in the Rohingya camp. With an exciting Art competition and active involvement from parents’ community people, and guardians, highlighting the importance of literacy in personal empowerment and sustainable development.
This year’s theme, “Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace,” underscores the crucial role that literacy plays in individual growth, communication, and social cohesion.

As a national humanitarian organization, Samaj Kalyan O Unnayan Shangstha (SKUS) is proud to provide educational services through initiatives like the Community-Based Learning Facility (CBLF) with the support of Brac pooled fund, ensuring children in Camps 15 & 16 have the chance to learn, grow, and inspire progress within their communities.
World Literacy Day 2024 reminds us that while global literacy rates have improved, many still lack access to quality education. Let’s continue to work together toward ensuring that every individual, no matter their circumstances, has the opportunity to learn and thrive. Also, we organized the art competition and prize-giving ceremony in the camp for the purpose of Literacy Day. As per the guidance of Camp in Charge of the Camp In line with this, SKUS is committed to empowering community members, particularly women, by encouraging them to learn and at least ensure they can write their signature—a small but significant step towards personal independence.
